We are seeking a cost specialist who has knowledge and experience in enterprise-wide cost control processes. In addition to having proven technical analytical skills, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with senior leaders within TC Energy.  

 
This position reports to the Vice-President, Total Rewards and Shared Services and is responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating processes across the organization in support of enhancing our culture of cost consciousness and competitiveness. 


What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with senior leaders and enterprise-wide senior financial professionals to develop ongoing processes to identify, track and monitor cost efficiency opportunities
  • Lead collaborative cost review meetings with senior leaders across the organization
  • Perform enterprise-wide cost analysis to identify innovative cost efficiencies
  • Conduct external benchmarking analysis as required in support of assessing competitiveness, and setting cost targets and metrics
  • Model best practices by coordinating the budgeting and forecasting processes for Corporate Services
  • Supervise and guide a small team in execution of the team deliverables, including mentor and coach others in the application of technical knowledge and resolution of problems
  • Other duties as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field 
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional accounting or financial designation (CPA – CA/CMA/CGA, or CFA) 
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong or advanced knowledge of Excel and Power BI
  • Experience working in SAP and/or Workday
