| The Opportunity Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), a leader in Canadian habitat conservation, is looking for a confident, energetic and dedicated professional to join our team in Manitoba. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong partnerships and relationships with Indigenous communities, Nations and organizations in a meaningful, respectful, and supportive manner to support stewardship projects that advance beneficial conservation goals in a matter that mutually supports community protocols. This will involve collaborative efforts with other business lines including conservation programs, policy, fundraising, and communications to achieve mutual conservation goals. You need to be an enthusiastic team player and passionate about the outdoors - a self-starter who can work with anyone, and capable of working alone in remote settings under minimal supervision and recognize the importance of environmental stewardship. You are independent, resourceful and possess strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills and can manage numerous projects on tight deadlines. You are a persuasive, goal-oriented individual. Your personal and professional experience and directly related knowledge make you the ideal candidate for this position. The successful candidate will also have an affinity to the outdoors, conservation, and the world of waterfowl. Requirements -A degree in natural resources management, biology, ecology, wildlife management, agriculture or equivalent would be an asset. However, a combination of education, skills, and experience will be considered for this position. -Specific experience in knowledge gathering and sharing within an ethical space to support Indigenous-led conservation. -Advanced certification/training on Indigenous Engagement or other related specialized study will also be considered an asset. -Strong planning, reporting and project management skills. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail -Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written. -Specific experience in knowledge gathering and sharing within an ethical space to support Indigenous-led conservation. -Valid class 5 driver's license; experience with various outdoor equipment including GPS and ATV's. -Familiarity with the non-profit and/or environmental conservation sectors would also be considered an asset Salary Range: $64,200 - $80,300 Location: This position is based in The Pas, Manitoba but is open to other locations, depending on candidate. | |
