(www.lafarge.ca) Position Title: Sidewalk Concrete Finisher (NOC: 7282) Number of positions: 25 Start Date: Spring 2019 Location: Various locations in and around Edmonton, AB Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full-Time, Day, Morning, Weekend, Evening, Night, Overtime Benefits: Group Insurance Benefits (Disability, Dental, Pension), Bonus, Mileage premium and meal allowance as per company’s policy JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: Not required Experience: 3 years of relevant experience Additional Skills: Road construction Work Setting: Sidewalks and curbs; Roads and bridges Specific Skills: Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces; Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures; Operate power vibrators to compact concrete; Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification; Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement; Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces; Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade; Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots Work Site Environment: Outdoors; Dusty Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Attention to detail; Standing for extended periods; Bending, crouching, kneeling Type of Materials: Reinforcing membrane and protective covering; Hardners and epoxies; Colours and sealers Personal Suitability: Accurate; Team player | |
