Description
SD 91, Nechako Lakes, is located in the beautiful central interior of British Columbia. Our standard schools serve 3500 students across the communities of Fort St. James, Vanderhoof, Fraser Lake, Burns Lake, and Granisle . We live, work and play on the unceded, ancestral territories of fourteen First Nations representing the Dakelh, Nedut’en and Wet’suwet’en peoples.

Babine Elementary Secondary School (BESS) is located in Granisle, BC. The school is steps away from the shore of Babine Lake, the largest natural lake in BC, with a population of 352. The 5-year old school is open-concept and consists of small class sizes. With rental assistance, moving allowance and small community living, this is the perfect opportunity for teaching couples, new and seasoned educators. The school operates 4.5 days per week, allowing for an extended weekend for staff and students. Staff are supported with professional development opportunities at the school and district level. Learn more about the district and the school at https://www.sd91.bc.ca/.
