Reporting to the VP, Real Estate, National Capital Region/Atlantic and Acquisitions, the Senior Director, Real Estate is responsible for our rapidly growing real estate operations in the National Capital Region, including land development, servicing, remediation, heritage considerations, construction, marketing, leasing and sales, and team leadership. In particular, the individual will oversee and manage the ambitious 310-acre Wateridge Village development close to Ottawa’s downtown core. This landmark community is a visionary space combining design-forward residences, retail and office space, parks, trails, and much more. A strong leader with above average communication abilities, the Senior Director will provide direction and consistently demonstrate a collaborative management approach.

The Senior Director, Real Estate will have wide exposure to real estate management practices and procedures including development approvals, development and building permits, site servicing, community consultation, planning, engineering, and overall construction processes. The ideal candidate has a relevant network in the National Capital Region and a thorough understanding of municipal and provincial legislation applicable to real estate projects, including planning acts, environmental guidelines, zoning and municipal planning approval processes. We are looking for an individual with substantial business acumen and a minimum of 10 years in real estate including acquisition, land development, urban design, leasing, marketing and sales. Post-secondary degree or diploma in combination with other designation(s) in the area of business administration, real estate, engineering, urban planning, architecture, project management or a related field is required. Bilingualism proficiency is required with fluent knowledge of both official languages.
