Lead Manager, Indigenous Research and Reporting Initiatives

In recognition of the critical importance to this role of a lived understanding of Indigenous communities, history, values and cultural competencies, this competition is restricted to self-identified Indigenous applicants (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit).

The Office of the Provincial Health Officer (OPHO) is committed to truth and reconciliation and upholding the inherent rights of Indigenous peoples. The OPHO is working to unlearn, and undo inherited white supremacy and racism in our policies, practices and approaches. The OPHO has partnerships with the First Nations Health Authority, Metis Nation BC and other Indigenous partners to pursue collaborative projects and develop reports on Indigenous health, wellness and determinants of health. The OPHO's relationships are grounded in principles of self-determination, respect, reciprocal accountability, cultural safety, cultural humility, and Two-Eyed Seeing.

The Lead Manager, Indigenous Research and Reporting Initiatives works in collaboration with the Project Director and is responsible for overseeing research regarding a variety of health-related issues and for the development, review, production, and evaluation of reports and other project deliverables. The Lead Manager will also assist with other office priorities, including public health emergencies.

Education/Experience:
- Master's degree in related discipline*, plus three years related work experience**; OR
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline*, plus five years' related work experience**; OR
- or an equivalent combination of education in a related discipline* and related work experience**.
Salary$75,552.53 - $86,175.83 annually
