PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

The Intermodal Operations Analyst will drive for efficiencies within CP’s Intermodal Trucking services which is responsible for the delivery and pick-up of containers within our network. The selected individual will be responsible for collecting and analyzing business metrics and delivering efficiencies to improve productivity and reduce cost.

 

 POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

• Develop and maintain scorecards outlining metrics and KPI’s (e.g. Productivity and rework)

• Compile regular metrics to the Trucking services Management team

• Assess and leverage key performance indicators to mitigate future issues

• Provide technical leadership to the Trucking team

• Key escalation point for the Trucking team on systemic issues

• Develop and drive forward process methodology, standards and deliverables that support departmental objectives

• Research and implement best practice and solutions to meet business requirements

• Perform requirements analysis of business requirement for technology enhancement

• Perform test case development, testing and recording of results for technology deliverables

• Identify and drive requirements for changes to business processes. Assist with creating user guides and training

• Support vacancy relief in other areas of the Trucking team (e.g. Coordinator or Planner roles)

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

• University degree preferred and/or experience in the transportation industry

• Trucking experience would be considered an asset

• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools would be considered an asset

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a structured, methodical approach

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• High customer focus and ability to manage expectations

• Strong communication skills – written, verbal, with passion and conviction

• Facilitation & negotiation management skills - drives corrective action

• Ability to multitask and to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Willing to be available as required on a 7X24 basis

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CP. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
