A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering

Experience:
5-10 years of work experience in CNC programming and machining
Experience in CAD/CAM (SolidWorks/Esprit)
Experience with Microsoft Office tools
Basic understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100D, IATF 16949 is advantageous

Application/Manufacturing Engineer
The Application Engineer (AE) of GN Corporations Inc. (GN) is responsible for the design and development of solutions for CNC machining and Set up/Configure CNC machines within the integrated management system. All new product development includes estimating of machining and all value-added services; Pre-Production and Post-Production meetings; and monitoring the development process by ensuring compliance to schedule and manufacturing plan. This position shall report on evaluating the performance effectiveness of the implemented system.

Specific Functions
As part of the technology team, the AE will interact with a variety of managers from different departments. GN’s AE job description includes, but is not limited to, the following:

1. Core Duties
• Drive, manage, and influence complex CNC programming (5 axis and more) to provide most efficient and effective processes
• Set up/Configure DMG MORI, MAZAK, UNISIG, CHETO machines (FANUC and SIMENS controls)
• Set up machining equipment utilized by the organization in order to ensure equipment operations at accepted standards for the type of tooling being used.
• Understand drawings, blueprints, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, tools to be used, and materials for the job and setup requirements.
• Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
• Conducting PFMEA
• Collaborate with the tool suppliers Supply Chain and Operations to propose new tools.
• Work with TDM to have tool assemblies available for programmers.
• Measure, examine and test completed parts, identifying defects and ensuring conformance to specifications and blueprints.
• Accountable for the efficient working of the cross functional team and maintain interpersonal relationships
• Accurate and highly analytical
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude with the ability to work independently with little supervision
• Knowledge of heat treat and/or process for tooling requirements.
• Be able to operate Tool Room equipment as required.
• Be part of and promote team atmosphere.
• Must be able to communicate with all levels of Operations
• Must be able to improve self, others and current process
• Must have ability to work to close tolerances

2. Additional Responsibilities & Duties:
• Quality Management System– Understand and apply GN Corporations Inc. quality system requirements, including customer requirements and legal requirements.
o Understand and apply GN Corporations Inc. policy for its commitment to quality.
o Participate actively in training, operational improvement teams, preventative and corrective actions and identifying non-conformities.
o Understanding, identifying and applying applicable procedures.

• Occupational Health and Safety – Understand and apply GN Corporations Inc. Health and Safety policy as well as be responsible for his/her own health and safety at work. Responsible to avoid adversely affecting the health and safety of others through any act or omission.
o Responsible for the correct use protective clothing and equipment as provided by GN Corporations Inc. and for guarding against misuse or damage to such equipment.
o Responsible for reporting any hazardous situations arising in the workplace that cannot be self-corrected, or injury incurred during work, no matter how minor.
o Responsible for avoiding injury resulting from manual handling tasks associated with his/her employment, by use of risk assessment, correct mechanical handling equipment and appropriate manual handling techniques.

• Industry Standards and Regulations – Be familiar with all relevant industry standards, recommended practices and regulations. Monitor self-compliance with company, industry, environment and government requirements as well as promote their acceptance in all aspects of company business.
