The opportunity

Our Information Services (IS) Business Unit Application Maintenance and Support team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Calgary to support our Information Services department.

We are seeking a highly driven Application Maintenance & Support Developer who has knowledge and experience in enhancing and maintaining enterprise wide system solutions that will help drive our department to provide highly valuable digital transformational solutions.  You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our system wide platform solutions, provide project support when needed in addition to delivering new innovative solutions for our business.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze, test, implement, troubleshoot and maintain new and existing software solutions across multiple platforms
  • See projects and work tasks through to completion while adhering to committed timelines
  • Provide day to day operational support of enterprise wide software solutions while adhering to best practices
  • Participate as an active team member on projects
  • Ensure all documentation is created and maintained for all software solutions
  • Seek Continuous Improvements opportunities across our business and I.S. department
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and actively seek application related improvements and take actions to optimize application delivery
  • Manage and optimize our business applications and enterprise systems on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Interact with Service Now for ITSM functions (request, incident, change etc.)
  • Be passionate about providing exceptional customer service
  • Other tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • A completed bachelor’s degree or technical diploma from a recognized institution with a focus in Computer Science, Software development or a related study
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience preferably with software development tools and methodologies
  • Experience with C#/.NET and/or Java
  • Proven experience with Database queries
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Willingness and ability to adapt and learn new technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex issues
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Rapid Innovation Principles is considered an asset
  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology desired
  • Working knowledge with no code technologies such as K2 and Blue Prism
  • Team player, ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, spoken & presenting)
  • Results oriented and delivery focused
  • Proven ability to provide quality results and excellent customer service
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
