| At Nurse Next Door, 2566 Rugby Rd., Mississauga, ON L5B1T2 we help seniors stay in their homes for as long as they choose by caring, connecting and helping them continue doing what they love most. We deliver home care through our Happier Aging philosophy and are looking for 3 Long term care aides who are compassionate, engaging and above all persons who will take responsibility for their actions. As a Long term care aide at Next Door Caregiver, you must be passionate about making lives better and: • Always put clients first • Have a warm and caring heart • Think of creative solutions and always find a better way • Follow through with commitments and build great relationships • Go above and beyond (even when no one is looking!) | Education Requirements | • Some secondary schooling & on the job training OR Certification in health care or a nursing program; • Completion of CPR or First Aid course will be an asset; • Drivers license |
| Essential Skills | • Create Happier Aging experiences in homes and community settings; • Assist seniors with activities of daily living: healthy meal preparation, personal care, light housekeeping, errands, companionship, transportation, etc. • Assist in feeding, exercise routines, leisure activities; accompany clients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties relating to patient care & comfort. • Take blood pressure, temperature, pulse; administer first aid in emergency situations; document senior's care with reports. • Meet safety standards, using equipment safely and accurately • Provide premium care approach to seniors • Respond to Care Services Center (CSC) Team regarding scheduling inquiries and updates within the agreed upon timeline • Review the care plan prior to beginning a visit, completing records accurately and carrying out all assignments as requested • May accompany seniors to doctors |

| Additional Skills | We provide care 24/7, so visits may be scheduled early morning, afternoon, evening, or overnight to meet our clients’ needs. • Two positive professional references • Background or Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (updated every 5 years for continued employment) • Negative TB test (updated every 5 years for continued employment) • Ability to travel independently to client’s visits • Communication skills, both written and verbal |
