The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board ("KPRDSB") offers dynamic, high quality educational programs for nearly 33,000 elementary, secondary, and adult students in the 100 schools within our jurisdiction. As part of our strategy to provide on-going support for our schools, the Board is now accepting resumes for Ojibwe Language Teachers. This position is Temporary with the potential of becoming Permanent. While on-site learning is preferred, virtual learning, or a hybrid model is a possibility. Additional support, training and guidance will be provided to adapt the curriculum in order to honour Indigenous ways of knowing. Varying levels of fluency are required to support grade levels from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Qualifications/Experience: Honouring Indigenous ways of knowing and Indigenous pedagogies Lived experiences with conversational Ojibwe or experience teaching the language and fluency would be an asset but is not a requirement Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a team First Nations background and/or experience teaching Indigenous children Varying levels of fluency will be considered Locations: Cobourg Collegiate Institute Kaawaate East City Public School North Shore Public School Roseneath Public School Thomas A.
