Duties:
Red River College requires a term instructor to deliver courses in the Landscape Horticulturist Red Seal Apprenticeship program. Reporting to the Chair, the candidate will collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and deliver the curriculum of the new Red Seal Occupational Standard (RSOS) program.
Duties will include: course preparation, delivery, and student evaluation as well as the development and maintenance of course outlines, learning outcomes, lesson plans, student notes, laboratory instructions, assignments, tests and examinations. The successful candidate will instruct classes, participate in Department and College committees, assist in Department and College activities including industry related events such as Skills Manitoba competitions, and develop / modify classroom curriculum to reflect current needs of the profession.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic background of Landscape Horticulturist Journeyperson or similar Diploma Program. 
- Experience in landscape construction and installation, landscape maintenance
- Knowledge in the course areas of, but not limited to; plant and soil sciences and plant identification techniques
- Knowledge in the course areas of, but not limited to; commercial and retail growing operations, Industry related sales and marketing, equipment and machinery.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Effective leadership skills

- Commitment to lifelong learning

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in teaching in a secondary or post-secondary environment
- Experience in curriculum development
- Having possessed or currently possessing a pesticide applicators or arborists license.
- Industry Certification related to practical experience.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary: $57,723 - $85,733 per annum*
