| Job Location: 6 Marconi Ct., Bolton, ON L7E 1H3 Duration of employment: 2 years Job Duties include: - Discuss the upholstery fabric, texture, color and style with the clients to provide estimate cost for upholstering furniture and/or other items - Fix and/or replace worn-out springs, webbings using hand tools, power tools, glue cement or staples to secure them back in place - Design upholstery cover patterns and cutting plans based on sketches, customer descriptions or blueprints provided - Maintain records of time to perform each job - Operate sewing machine or sew upholstery by hand to seam cushions and join various sections of covering material - Stretch webbing and fabric using webbing stretchers - Read work orders and apply knowledge and experience with materials to determine types and amounts of materials required to cover workpieces - Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces - Install padding and underlays to furniture the frame - May have to deliver orders to client’s given address occasionally - Deliver custom-made finished pieces as per the client’s demand. | |
