Are you a dispatcher looking to advance your skills? In this role, you will be responsible to use your equipment knowledge to ensure safe, productive, and efficient oversight of the Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Dispatch operation.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Be responsible for the safe operation of the AHS operating system (FrontRunner and Modular Dispatch) and actively look for hazards or unsafe conditions
  • Ensure area access controls are strictly adhered to and entry is restricted to essential personnel only, while ensuring emergency preparedness plans are understood and adhered to
  • Lead emergency response incidents in a calm and controlled manner
  • Understand and align with all internal standards, work practices and guidelines as well as external regulatory obligations
  • Participate in incident investigations, capture evidence and act as a technical investigator when required
  • Collaborate with functional and cross-functional peers and leaders to influence business outcomes
  • Be responsible for AHS Mine plan compliance, production optimization throughout the shift including speed limit restriction, obstacle necessity, survey quality, course alignments, etc.
  • Monitor real time shift production KPIs and working closely with peers to maximize shift by shift performance

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 years of experience in Mine Operations open pit mining with previous dispatching experience
  • A minimum of two years of Autonomous Haulage System dispatching experience
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • A strong sense of ownership, with proven interpersonal skills and strong leadership skills
  • The ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast paced environment with strong decision-making skills

Preference for:

  • Individuals with oil sands mining experience
  • A strong working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and an understanding of loss management techniques
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP
  • Solid leadership and communication skills to interact with all functions and levels of leadership
  • A continuous improvement mindset utilizing facts to make decisions, demonstrating a sense of urgency, taking initiative, and being KPI data results focused

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta’s Athabasca region, 90 kilometres north of Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
  • Relocation support will be provided
  • NOC code: 1215
  • Language of work: English
  • Wage: $119,500 - $143,400/year base salary
  • Benefits: annual incentive bonus, pension and savings plans, vacation plan, benefits plan, relocation services
