  • Provide support to operations and other specialists in the daily monitoring of process conditions and troubleshooting
  • Support plant performance optimization studies
  • Manage continuous improvement initiatives, process development initiatives and the management of change
  • Support incident investigations and capture
  • Act as a mentor to new Engineers in Training and students

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • An engineering degree
  • Four years of related work experience with a working knowledge of mineral beneficiation processes, pumping systems, slurry hydraulics, gravity separation, flotation, and metallurgical accounting
  • Familiarity with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and other process-related documentation
  • Registration with APEGA or the ability to register as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • Sharp problem solving and analytical skills along with strong computer skills
  • The ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver on improvement projects
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships across numerous business units
  • Strong collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability

Preference for:

  • A degree in mineral processing, chemical, mechanical or mining engineering
  • Oil sands or mineral processing experience
  • Experience in leading and coaching team members

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant facility in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
