JOB NUMBER: 27581 Why you should join us: Would you like a dynamic opportunity to be a part of leading a shift in our mining operations from conventional to Autonomous Haul Systems (AHS) for all of Suncor? Can you administer innovative technologies with Suncor's AHS applications and systems? If you are looking for the opportunity to improve safety in the mine, increase reliability and performance, expand productivity and drive down costs while reducing our environmental footprint, then we have the role for you! You will effectively lead the system development and function safety of the AHS across multiple operations in different stages of deployment. You will use your expertise to: - Develop and own the management of sustainable, standardized processes related to system issues, management of change and investigations
- Develop and manage functional safety programs for AHS
- Lead updates and upgrades including the development and integration of Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing
- Administer the AHS technology feature request and roadmap development
- Collaborate with the AHS implementation teams and operational teams on AHS technical management and issue resolution
- Assist in the development of business tools and processes to set the operation up for success
- Support operational system competency and facilitate competency transfer to balance of operations peers
- Lead cultural change with respect to system functionality
- Plan for system integration of existing operational systems
- Support site-based technical teams
- Collaborate with functional peers (i.e. mine operations, maintenance, technical, technology, environmental health and safety) to drive business results
We’d like to review your application if you have… Must-haves (minimum requirements): - Five years of practical experience in system management of Autonomous Haulage Systems
- A Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering
- Experience in creative development of a functional safety program for autonomous applications
- Registration with APEGA as a Professional Engineer, or eligibility to register within the province of Alberta
- A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
- A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace
- Collaboration skills in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
- The ability to navigate multiple requests, prioritize, and you are process driven
- Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing
Preference for: - Experience with Komatsu’s FrontRunner Application
- Experience working in a start-up mining operation, multi-functional role or new technology deployment
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and influence the direction of the technology advancement
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information: - You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
