Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario invites applications for the positions of Academic Generalist and Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecologist (PAG). This position is for 0.8 FTE hours.

The Academic Generalist position will be located at St. Joseph’s Hamilton Hospital, and the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecologist position will be located at Hamilton Health Sciences.

Candidates will have successfully completed subspecialty training in pediatric and adolescent gynecology and have (or be eligible for) full license to practice with CPSO. The successful candidate must also hold a medical MD degree. Masters prepared or a commitment to do a Masters in QI required.

The successful candidate is expected to have experience and commitment to teaching all levels of learners, including medical students, residents, and Clinical Fellows and will provide leadership and training to future physicians. The candidates will be expected to fully participate in all appropriate departmental and divisional administrative and educational activities.

Candidates must have demonstrated capability and interest in clinical research and show evidence of a history of research productivity to align with the departmental academic mission and vision.

This is considered a 0.8 FTE faculty position for a period of three years (renewable). Applicants must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Salary is comprised of fee-for-service activities, point based compensation from the academic AFP for educational and research activities and includes a stipend for research activity.
