What it’s like working at CBC/Radio-Canada

CBC NWT is looking for someone with a natural curiosity who loves to tell stories with compelling visuals, rich audio and great writing. The North is diverse and inclusive, a gold mine of interesting characters with stories that speak to the heart of our communities and cultures. It's a place of growth and change. We're seeing a rise in the rights and influence of Indigenous peoples, emergent immigrant communities and a major transition in the territorial economy. There are opportunities to learn, travel and build a career in the North. Join the team that serves the North as the people's broadcaster and leads the way in digital storytelling.

CBC is reinvesting in the regions by creating new positions across Canada as part of our digital strategy. Come join us on this exciting challenge to explore new ways of telling stories and diving deep into how media is created, transmitted and consumed. You will also, as required, critically edit material written by others, present information and/or analysis on air in a variety of formats, and perform other production or administrative tasks associated with the smooth functioning of the newsroom, program unit or station. Your work will be governed by CBC's journalistic and broadcasting policy and protocols.

In this role, you will ensure that all CBC journalistic standards are met and that our stories are fair, balanced, accurate, thoughtful, immediate and resonate with the communities we serve. You’re innovative and will champion new story treatments and new workflows, and will help create a diverse range of content on our radio, television, digital and social platforms. You’re not afraid to take creative risks, and you inspire others to do the same. As the industry shifts, local news and community storytelling is more important than ever.
