Description
As a direct contributor on the Business Transformation, Enterprise Process and Strategy team, you will be engaged in a collaborative approach to drive process innovation and optimization within our North American Life Reinsurance business and challenge the status quo. In this unique role you will also use your diagnostic skills to assist business with resolving time-sensitive process/system issues.

Working with senior leaders, team members, global IT, and third party providers, you will serve as a cross-functional expert on internal reengineering projects, leveraging your expertise in discovering and understanding key business requirements to continually enhance our business processes and workflows. You will work end-to-end from opportunity identification through to production deployment or market launch. This unique role will provide you opportunity to support the business in understanding process problems which are blocking day to day operations and may be related to data or changes which need time-sensitive resolutions.

You will question the norm and promote new and innovative ways to use the latest technologies (e.g. SaaS, A.I., machine learning, IoT, etc.) and other tools to enable our future vision of maximized automation through user configurable tools.

Your job
-Help support existing processes / systems relied upon by the business teams to perform critical business tasks:
-Perform activities including business process analysis, needs assessments, and requirements gathering
-Contribute to the analysis of business process to clarify requirements and identify inefficiencies/improvements (through root cause analysis as required)
-Develop and drive integration of business rules logic into internal decision engines/systems
-Facilitate communication between clients and internal teams to understand complex business processes and gather, clarify and validate requirements, while anticipating and resolving issues with requirements
-Clarify and communicate business needs, contribute to the definition and design of data-driven solutions and ensure the alignment of business solutions and business needs
-Participate throughout the software development lifecycle from initiation through testing and implementation
-Perform gap analysis between current state and target state and help bridge the gap by identifying technical and functional requirements and data driven recommendations
-Collaborate with other SME's to develop & drive integration of business rules logic into internal systems

Help support/lead projects and other large scale initiatives as required with larger scale focus:
-Help drive innovation, enabling new reinsurance business paradigms
-Lead the critical documentation of business requirements, gap analysis, standard operating procedures, design specifications, process maps, testing plans, and much more
-Support the design and development of internal solutions and client facing products/services
-Publish, distribute and facilitate sign-off of business requirements documentations, manages changes to the requirements baseline.
-Produce dashboards to track and present key business insights to clients and internal audiences
-Maintain communication with Compliance managers, document associated needs and escalate issues
-Ensure the quality & accuracy of internal / client-facing solutions by facilitating and participating in testing
-Support the definition of, execution and/or monitor of test cases that cover the essential business scenarios/use cases for System Testing and/or User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Your profile:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
-3-5 years work working experience ideally as a Business Analyst
-Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science or equivalent
-Strong analytical and organizational skills with proven ability to support end business users during time-sensitive processing
-Ability to express complex ideas clearly and facilitate communication between clients and internal teams
-Experience with the full software development lifecycle
-Proven capabilities in project and user-testing management
-High level of commercial awareness around digitization, business rules and decision engines
-Demonstrated ability to apply creative thinking and problem solving skills to solve business problems
-Attention to detail and organization
-Superior written and oral communication skills, including presentations to clients and internal management
-Experience producing project artifacts including but not limited to: use cases, user stories, requirements documents, and process flows.
-Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
-Experience in Life Insurance (Direct Carrier or Reinsurance) is an asset
-Agility to work across multiple internal teams and multiple assignments in a dynamic environment
Strong written and oral communications, including presentations to senior level executives
-The ability to learn and adapt quickly with the drive to make a material difference
-Working knowledge with one or more scripting languages (powershell, vbscript, python, Excel/Word macros)
-Working knowledge of O365 PowerApps, PowerAutomate, Forms and other automation tools an asset
-Working knowledge/usage of WorkFlow building in a popular workflow tool an asset
-Database SQL query language knowledge for data-analysis (Oracle and/or msSQL) and asset
-Data manipulation / filtering for analysis considered a strong asset
