Job Overview

Reporting to the area turnaround manager, you will play a key role in facilitating field execution and removing road blocks in support of contractor supervision during the execution window.

Key Accountabilities

  • Liaise with coordinators from diverse groups including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, insulators and scaffolders
  • Contribute to meetings including turnover, execution and updates, risk reviews and HAZOPs
  • Craft the turnaround change notice to accurately capture all changes to the scope and schedule
  • Participate in pre-job reviews, schedule development and job and schedule optimization activities
  • Support and promote the achievement of environmental, health and safety performance targets for the department
  • Audit and verify field productivity in areas including schedule, materials and housekeeping
  • Uphold and reflect our beliefs and core values

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Seven or more years of experience in maintenance in the oil and gas industry
  • Post-secondary education in the mechanical field with preference given to candidates with a Valid Alberta Journeyman Mechanical Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Mechanical Certificate; attach your Journeyman / Red Seal ticket with your application in order to be considered
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record  

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of industrial plants, facilities and equipment
  • Strong computer skills, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite; SAP and Primavera are an asset
  • Exceptionally strong communication, relationship building, problem solving and analytical skills
  • You demonstrate a high level of motivation, take the initiative to look for continuous improvement opportunities, and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Working Conditions

  • The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, with an extended shift of 6 days on, 1 day off, 12-hour days during turnaround events
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
