Ministry of Forests : Chilliwack Senior Licensed Authorizations Officer The Senior Licensed Authorizations Officer provides specialist services to the Natural Resource Sector in evaluating resource applications, conducting applied research, and leading or participating in complex projects. This position may supervise professional and technical staff. This position is responsible for providing senior professional services, including providing direction to the stewardship team, and providing recommendations for decision makers within a natural resource program area. The primary role includes: Resource Monitoring, Silviculture, Timber Supply Review, Strategic and Operational Planning, Land base Investments, Forest Health, and Program Staff Management. For information about the Indigenous Applicant Advisory Service please visit: Indigenous Applicant Advisory Service - Province of British Columbia (gov.bc.ca) Qualifications for this role include: - Undergraduate Degree or higher in the natural resource field or equivalent as recognized by the relevant association. - Registered, or immediately eligible* for registration, with the ABCFP as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or equivalent. Note: Immediately eligible is defined as being registered as a Registered Professional Forester in another Canadian jurisdiction and able to transfer that membership to the ABCFP within 6 months of employment. It is the responsibility of the applicant to have the ABCFP review their qualifications to ensure they have the necessary requirements for registration. - Minimum 3 years of experience in negotiating and consulting with stakeholders in natural resource management. - Minimum 2 years of experience (field/office) working in resource management. - Experience supervising, leading coaching, and mentoring staff. | |
