We are looking for an Instrumentation Technologist to support our Aerospace Research Centre. The Technical Officer would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity. As an Instrumentation Technologist and member of the Central Services group of the Aerospace Manufacturing Technology Centre (AMTC), you will provide facilities support for technology research and development projects that are conducted at the AMTC. You will build and install electronic systems and control panels required for laboratory projects and will be responsible for building and installing instrumentation cabling; purchasing electronic components; performing instrument calibrations; maintaining and troubleshooting facility and laboratory instrumentation and control systems; and assisting in supporting the experimental and operational testing needs of the laboratory. You will work in a dynamic and flexible team environment with researchers and technical experts who have access to world-class facilities. Vous ferez partie du groupe de Services centraux du Centre des technologies de fabrication en aerospatiale (CTFA). En votre qualite de technologue en instrumentation, vous fournirez un soutien aux installations pour les projets de recherche-developpement technologique qui sont conduits au CTFA. Vous fabriquerez et installerez les systemes electroniques et panneaux de controle requis pour les projets du laboratoire et devrez : fabriquer et installer le cablage d'instrumentation; acheter des composants electroniques; effectuer des calibrages d'instruments; entretenir et depanner les systemes d'instrumentation et de controle de l'installation et du laboratoire; et participer au soutien des besoins du laboratoire sur le plan des essais experimentaux et operationnels. Vous travaillerez dans un environnement d'equipe dynamique et flexible avec des chercheurs et des experts techniques qui ont acces a des installations de calibre mondial. | Education Requirements | Post-secondary degree (3-year program) in Industrial Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology specializing in Automation and Control, or Applied Sciences in Electronics or Instrumentation. A combination of education and at least 5 years of experience in similar tasks may also be considered. ---------------- Diplome d'etudes post-secondaires (programme de 3 ans) en technologie de l'electronique industrielle, en technologie du genie electrique specialise en automatisation et controle ou en sciences appliquees en electronique ou en instrumentation. | Essential Skills | Significant knowledge of analog and digital circuits; Knowledge of power electricity; Ability to read and understand electrical schematics; Ability to operate electronic test equipment such as an oscilloscope and digital multimeter; Knowledge of the installation, calibration and troubleshooting of instruments, sensors and data acquisition equipment; and Knowledge of using various hand tools to build instrumentation panels. | Experience | Significant hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, modifying and/or operating complex electronic equipment and instrumentation systems; Experience in the development or modification of process control systems; Significant experience assisting with experimental testing and providing technical support to clients; Experience in programming programmable logic controllers (PLC); and Experience with programming and upgrading human-machine interfaces (HMI). Assets: Experience in computer programming (LabVIEW, C++, VB).
