| St. Brigid's Dairy Ltd.. is in need of Farm Manager Employment Terms: Full Time - Permanent Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Manage the overall operations of the cropping and forage portions of the farm ensuring the farm achieves production targets. 2) Determine, with the owner, the kinds and varieties of crops to be grown. 3) Organize and co-ordinate planting, cultivating, crop and forage harvesting activities on organic basis. 4) Assist owner with hiring, managing and training of farm personnel 5) Maintain and repair farm machinery, equipment and buildings 6) Perform farming duties 7) Purchase seed, feed, and other supplies 8) Manage crop and forage inventories, and feed out to livestock 9) Maintain all Organic Certification paperwork as it relates to fields and cropping Working Hours : 42-56 hours/week, shift work between 5:00AM - 10:00PM, working hours may vary depending on stage of production, 1 varied day off per week Work Location: Brussels, Ontario, Canada Employment Requirements: 1) Education: University Degree or College Diploma in Agricultural Management or other field related to crop or livestock production is required 2) Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience as a Farm Manager or Farm Supervisor within the last 10 years is required 3) Experience in Organic Cropping, or Holistic Management methods an asset, but not required 4) Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. 5) Superb communication and interpersonal skills 6) Willingness to work overtime as required 7) A good knowledge of animal husbandry needs | |
