Instructor (Term) Early Childhood Education EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Position Location: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB) Part-Time, Term Position Available Anticipated Start September 2019 Possibility of an Extension This competition may be used to establish a 12 month eligibility list of qualified candidates for future vacancies. Duties: Reporting to the Chair of Community Services, the Instructors are required to instruct select courses and/or instruct and supervise students during practicum placements. Instructor responsibilities include classroom and practicum site instruction, curriculum development, student assessments, utilization of course LEARN sites, and related administrative responsibilities as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - A degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, Developmental Studies or other related degree; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. - Extensive experience working as an Early Childhood Educator - A thorough knowledge and understanding about the specific role of Early Childhood Educators in the support of Indigenous, newcomer and refugee children and families - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently - Experience presenting to large groups, supervising, training or mentoring employees and practicum students - Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Commitment to lifelong learning ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - Related Master's Degree CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada - This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends - Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Persons Sector Check - Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check | |
