Pediatric Anesthesia Specialist - Full Time (Clinician Educator)

The Department of Anesthesia, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster Unviersity aned Hamilton Health Sciences Corp. invite applicants for an Academic Physician in the sub-specialty of Pediatric Anesthesia to join the Department as full-time faculty for a period of three years (renewable).  Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Applicants will be required to deliver services to a robust pediatric clinical practice at McMaster University Children's Hospital.  Qualified applicants will have completed sub-specialty certification in Pediatirc Anesthesia including the following:

• with a combination of clinical, research and education activities have been undertaken
• with demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate medical students and postgraduate residents in pediatric anesthesia
• with research training which includes experience wiht meta-analysis in order to participate/supervise/lead research projects
• with training in acute pain and transitional pain service in pediatric anesthesia

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.

The McMaster University stream of Clinician Educator involves, but is not limited to, the supervision and teaching of undergraduate MD students; the supervision and teaching of anesthesia residents; participation in continuing medical education; and significant engagement in educational research and innovation is expected.
