Legal Counsel Legal Counsel Level 1: $ 92,531.96 - $119,850.85 annually Legal Counsel Level 2: $127,821.13 - $165,767.24 annually Legal Counsel Level 3: $170,694.72 - $196,017.52 annually An exciting opportunity for a corporate / commercial solicitor in the Central Services Group. The Central Services (CS) Group within the Legal Services Branch (LSB) is seeking to fill one full-time permanent Legal Counsel 1/2/3 position in the area of corporate / commercial drafting. This position will provide corporate and commercial legal advice and services to Government, including in particular the drafting of government to government agreements with Indigenous nations, and other multi-party agreements involving various business structures. Counsel in the group work closely with government ministries and lawyers in other groups, including Indigenous law solicitors, in drafting agreements, often without precedent and requiring significant investment in exploring and understanding the relationship and subject matter at hand. These agreements generally support the Province’s Indigenous reconciliation objectives and can include the delegation of statutory functions to Indigenous nations, the delivery of government services to Indigenous Peoples, and commercial agreements that support economic development and strategic economic partnerships with Indigenous nations. Other areas of practice will be focused on agreement drafting for various government ministry initiatives and general corporate and commercial law. Qualifications for this role include: • Must be a member of the Law Society of British Columbia in good standing OR immediately eligible for call to the Bar. • Legal Counsel Level 1: 1 to 6 years of call • Legal Counsel Level 2: 7 to 11 years of call • Legal Counsel Level 3: 12 or more years of call • Experience as a solicitor. | |
