Your role

CBC Nova Scotia is seeking a Senior Producer to lead a team of journalists at our Cape Breton station and coordinate special programming initiatives throughout the province. You are part of the Nova Scotia leadership group that oversees the creation of editorial content on all of our media platforms.

Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will actively participate in the news agenda and ensure the quick and accurate delivery of breaking news in Cape Breton.

You have fresh ideas and technical expertise to create the quality programming Canadians have come to expect from us. You are someone who is always ready to explore new ways of creating content that is as distinctive, intelligent and innovative as the audiences we serve.

As Senior Producer, you will champion new voices and new perspectives. ensuring CBC Nova-Scotia reflects the diversity of our entire community,

You will develop our journalists with training, feedback and development plans. You will be part of the hiring process for the Cape Breton newsroom. As a people leader, you help with any disputes, onboarding new staff and look for opportunities for growth for the team in the Cape Breton newsroom.

As assigned by the Executive Producer, you will also help coordinate special local, provincial and regional journalistic programming that requires a high degree of organization and editorial oversight.

You will help grow our audience and position CBC as a vibrant and relevant service valued by the people of Cape Breton.
Education RequirementsUniversity degree with five years of relevant experience preferred.
