The Department of Radiology, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University, Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton invite applicants for the position of  Academic Nuclear Medicine Physician to join the Department. This is a full-time faculty position for a period of three years renewable.  Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Hamilton program offers a full gamut of nuclear medicine services both therapeutic and diagnostic.   Therapies include Ra-223, Iodine-131 for both benign and malignant disease, and participation in OCOG funded Lu-177 clinical trials.  In addition, we are participating in other pharma funded therapeutic trials.   We offer a full nuclear cardiology program and any candidate is expected to participate fully in the stressing and interpretation of these studies.  We perform all general nuclear medicine studies including I-123 MIBG as part of neuroendocrine and pediatric oncology programs.  Over 3000 PET scans are performed annually for both cardiac and oncologic indications.  This includes myocardial perfusion imaging with Rubidium-82 PET but also cardiac imaging for endocarditis, sarcoid, and cardiac viability.  We are participating in clinical trials with F-18 PSMA PET imaging.

The successful candidate will be a full-time member of the Department of Radiology and will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Department.  The successful candidate should also have interest in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching in nuclear medicine. The members of the department pool fee-for-service billings according to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Schedule of Benefits. We participate in an academic alternate funding plan.
