Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all aspects of the safe and efficient execution, quality control and documentation of mechanical work at our Syncrude Location
  • Specific to turnarounds, the incumbent would be accountable for planning, management of craft, organization of work packages and clarification of work scope with the customer
  • Responsible for financial, billing, project controls and correct payroll submissions
  • Provide leadership to field supervisors on day to day field mechanical work
  • Ensuring adherence to client specifications for field reporting
  • Monitoring progress against project schedules and budgets
  • Coordinates manpower and project requirements by evaluating and maximizing existing resources
  • Develops and maintains positive customer relations by leading through safe work performance and measurable key performance indicators
  • Collaborates with management on all operational and personal issues
  • Assists in the development and administration of sales, operating and capital budgets and various cost saving strategies

Role Specifications

  • 15 years of industry experience
  • 10 years of leadership experience in a supervisor or managerial role
  • P. Eng designation with a mechanical engineer background or journeyman trade certification is an asset  
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation an asset
  • Previous experience in the Oil and Gas sector considered an asset preference given to candidates with Fort McMurray oil sands experience

  • You're a technical expert, you can read drawings, interpret job scope and know best how to manage quality control
  • Planning, scheduling, cost control are all in your wheel house
  • You've got the industry experience to lead field leadership in their daily execution
