Description

The Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact, Faculty of Health Sciences, at McMaster University invites applicants for a three-year (renewable) faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in the Special category. The successful candidate will hold a joint appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine. This position is predominantly a research oriented position and we are looking for an individual with an established track record in clinical infectious diseases and developing and applying new methods to improve efficiency and trustworthiness of clinical practice guidelines.

The successful applicant will be involved in a combination of clinical, research and educational activities and will work closely with the established CLARITY research group in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University. Clinical activities will include in-patient clinics, out-patient clinics and teaching clinics. Research activities will include participation on grants and publications in the area of infectious diseases. Educational activities will include teaching and supervision of students in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact graduate programs and medical students and residents in the McMaster undergraduate and postgraduate medical programs.

Applicants must have a MD and specialty training in Internal Medicine. Applicants must have obtained a PhD in Health Research Methodology or a related discipline and must have proven experience in clinical research.

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed to practice (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
