Do you enjoy working on high-scale, complex, and high visibility projects and programs?  If yes, consider the following opportunity:

 

Rogers is seeking a System Planner to ensure that Rogers Outside Plant Engineering projects are completed within demanding deadlines. Reporting to the Manager of Outside Plant Engineering for Durham Region, you will be responsible for CATV design/mapping and the coordination of projects. You will demonstrate a "Customer Comes First" approach from project creation to completion.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Plan, design and coordinate projects for Coax and Fiber Network Architecture within Rogers standards and guidelines associated with new service delivery, plant upgrades and rehabilitation activity while ensuring they are technically sound, serviceable, and cost effective.
  • Initiate necessary permits, utility applications and drawings associated with fiber/coax plant installations.
  • Prepare cost estimates, bill of materials and other documentation for associated projects.
  • Maintain and report on project status through Rogers project tracking system.
  • Work co-operatively with other Planners, Construction Team and design contractors to ensure a smooth flow of information between groups.
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma in one of the following is preferred: GIS Technology, Electronics Technology, Data Communications or Civil Technology, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum 5 years CATV or Telecom industry experience, preferably in Planning and/or Construction.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SpatialNet Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand civil drawings
  • Working knowledge of CSA standards, municipal by-laws, regulatory and utility standards.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong multi-tasking and project management skills, able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver's license with a safe driving record
