We are looking for a Full-Time Anchor!

Are you an experienced storyteller, brimming with news ideas, and nowhere to put them? Does the idea of a fast-paced, 24/7 multi-platform newsroom seem like your ideal environment? Then CityNews 1130 is looking for you to join our on-air team!

What you will do…

• Collaborate with a team of journalists to find the most compelling stories and work to tell them effectively on multiple platforms, with a special emphasis to on-air storytelling and writing
• Contribute riveting and impactful story ideas that you may produce yourself
• Support your teammates by helping with all areas of the editorial process, from pitch to publish
• Focus on how to tell stories in linear and non-linear audio formats, while also considering web and TV

• A passion not just for speaking, but for storytelling
• The developed sense of what kinds of stories people in Vancouver want and need to hear
• Curiosity and a desire to push beyond the surface of news stories and challenge conceptions of the status quo
• A willingness to put the team first, and be able to work in service of a larger goal
• News moves fast! You must be able to multi-task and deliver for multiple, daily online and broadcast deadlines
• Because news never stops – a willingness to work evenings and weekend
