Duties: The School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts requires an instructor to teach in our Hospitality and Tourism diploma program. The instructor will plan, develop, teach and evaluate both lab and theory courses related to the program. Instructional duties may include such courses as Introduction to Tourism, Communications, Tourism Sustainability, Community Development and Tourism Entrepreneurship. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Diploma from a recognized Hospitality and Tourism program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered - Progressive management experience in the hospitality and tourism industry - Experience in experiential tourism development - Demonstration of excellent verbal communication skills - Excellent written communication skills - Experience in delivering presentations - Ability to work independently - Ability to work successfully within a team environment - Effective conflict resolution skills - Experience with Microsoft Office - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle various interpersonal conflicts and issues - Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Commitment to lifelong learning ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - Experience teaching at a post-secondary level CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada - This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends - Instructors are required to complete a Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) | |
