We are looking to drive significant growth within the Internet of Things (IoT) portfolio as part of the Rogers for Business team.  To help accomplish this, we are rapidly evolving our IoT Connectivity Services portfolio to introduce new products and services enabled through current and next generation IoT networks. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivery and ongoing management of these services under this portfolio. This position reports to the Director, Data Center and Advanced Services. In addition to managing product managers within their team, this person will also work closely with Technology, Sales and other cross functional teams within Rogers as well as industry partners to chart and execute on Rogers IoT strategy

 

What you will be doing:

  • Support a team of product managers to help deliver on Rogers IoT Connectivity strategy; Lead the team throughout all stages of produce life cycle -  building product requirements, concept design and architecture, development of new services; preparing business case justification for new product investments; support through all stages of ideation, funding, design and execution. Identify launch strategies and post-launch support, reporting on product delivery and business performance
  • Measure and track business and delivery performance of services within the portfolio throughout all lifecycle stages to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead the Product governance process to ensure that the roadmap is executed in coordination with the various stakeholders across Rogers’ business units
  • Engage and influence cross functional leadership teams to drive complex customer requirements delivery to completion within the committed timelines
  • Responsible for the day to day management of strategic partner relationships and facilitate presentations to potential prospects, C level executives and at industry related events
  • Lead development and execution of plans specific to key verticals such as Connected Cars, Security and Utilities
  • Be the subject matter of expert for all things around IoT connectivity – support sales in strategic opportunities and projects
  • Developing and managing the IOT device certification lifecycle process spanning requirements, certification, and logistics
  • Hire, coach and mentor product managers and support them in delivery of projects and career development

 

What you will bring:

  • 8+ years experience of building technology products and services in a telecommunication environment and/or an IoT enabled industry
  • Experience in leading and managing strong product teams
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies is a must have. Candidate must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of the use of such technologies in previous assignments
  • Ability to work with highly technical IT/Network SMEs to bring roadmap products to market
  • Excellent understanding of M2M eSIM concepts, IoT technologies (foundational programming concepts, cloud architecture, microservices, automation, devices ecosystem and standards), 3GPP standards and cellular APNs, SDLC concepts – Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Knowledge of automotive vehicle information architectures, private LTE, and IOT device management will be a plus
  • Proven expertise in leading product development from start to finish with ability to drive prioritization consensus across business units and serve as an effective liaison between customers and engineering
  • Experience in the development of business plans including business cases, cost/benefit analysis, revenue potential, pricing models, forecasts, and contracts
  • Strong customer focus and technical acumen with an understanding of emerging technologies such as mobile edge compute, SCEF, 5G IoT
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion to drive profitable growth for all accountable products
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and contribute to the development of peers and colleagues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingualism is considered an asset
  • Undergraduate degree in a technology and/or business field. Master's degree preferred
