The Senior Planner will report to the Manager, Core Capacity Planning. The Core Capacity Planning Team is accountable for core budget submissions and CA submissions. You will be responsible for delivering multi-year network capacity plans, capacity modeling and capital cost consolidation & optimization acting as the primary contact. The role also involves advanced Power BI report creation and engagements with cross functional teams (Eng, NI, Ops, IT, PMO) to develop network capacity plans and business case benefits. 


What you will be doing:

•    Track the capacity utilization of Core IP Network Platforms and trigger augmentation plans
•    Develop capacity dimensioning models based on actual network performance 
•    Use Power BI to maintain Router Port Inventory database 
•    Develop 3 year Network Plans for Core IP Network  
•    Evaluate business case for new technology with respect to impact on Network Financial and Technical implications
•    Prepare and present Budget & Commitment Authorizations for Core IP Network Platforms including developing Plans-of-Intent (POI) for capital initiatives and required supporting documentation

 

What you bring:
•    University degree/college diploma in the area of telecommunications or computer networks 
•    Min 5+ years of progressive Network Engineering or Planning experience in IP Networks, Wireless Networks, Data Center  
•    Demonstrated strong understanding of IP Networks, Optical Networks and Wireless Networks
•    Knowledge and experience with Power BI, Laravel, MySQL, and scripting languages such as Python
•    Strong analytical skills along with verbal and written communication skills
•    Ability to adapt quickly to change to meet business needs 
•    Excellent leadership and strong interpersonal skills to effectively drive large network programs 
•    Knowledge of Visio and Think-Cell is desired
•    Professional Engineering license is desired
