We’re looking for a Data Engineer and Analytics Lead as part of the Rogers Enterprise and Analytics Team to play a key role in building complex solution by turning data into actionable insights through conceptualizing, designing, developing analytical solutions as required.
This role will work closely with the stakeholders and enable business units in achieving a world-class customers experience and an outstanding data management and advanced analytics capabilities.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Enterprise Data and Analytics (ED&A) Team at the Rogers Park Brampton this individual will be responsible for managing a team of Data Engineers and Data Analysts to experiment, build, test, deploy and monitor a wide range of data products. This individual will be expected to lead in the successful delivery of several simultaneous projects working collaboratively with multiple Business Units, Enterprise Architecture, Security and other IT Teams. The role must also stay on top of key industry trends in data and analytics and drive innovation within the ED&A team.
What you will do: - Accountable for the design and development of the enterprise-wide data & analytics platform to support various on-premise and cloud-based applications
- Build robust and scalable production-grade pipelines of data ingestion and model consumption, with throughout testing and CI/CD integration
- Provide consultations to business stakeholders, identify gaps and needs, strategically prioritize resources to deliver solutions
- Participate in enterprise data strategy and roadmap discussion to ensure analytics platform are built in alignment with business and IT priorities while adhering to Data Governance Framework
- Promote industry best practices in data science and data engineering, foster a collaborative culture and establish team processes to work cross-functionally with a wide range of stakeholders
- Manage a team of data scientists & data engineers, including recruitment and mentoring in response to increasing demand for advanced analytics & AI
- Manage vendors (onshore and offshore) and contractors in project delivery
- Partner with leaders in the field of big data and AI to bring best practices and cutting-edge capabilities to Rogers
What you will bring: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced data science with broad understanding of methodologies in statistics, data mining and modelling techniques
- Proficient in programming languages such as R, Python and data science tool kits (dplyr, Scipy, etc)
- Experience in big data technology such as Hadoop, Spark, Dask
- Experience in container technology: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECR
- Experience in version control and CI/CD tools such as bash shell, git, Jenkins
- Strong hands-on experience in cloud technology: AWS SageMaker, Lambda, S3, Cloud Formation, API Gateway, Azure ML, Functions
- Experience in Production as well as maintenance of data movement pipeline, analytical machine learning models in the cloud environment
- Familiar with agile/SCRUM/lean methodology in implementing DevOps
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, resourceful in trouble shooting issues
- Excellent organisation skills, ability to strive under a fast-paced and high-pressure environment while managing multiple projects
