We are looking for a strong leader to join the Digital Media team within Rogers as a Senior Connected Device Developer.  In this role, you will be responsible for re-imagining the 10 foot living room experience for some of Canada’s most well-known brands such as Sportsnet, Citytv, 680News, Kiss 92.5, CHFI and more!   

What you will do: 

• Design and build new apps for the 10 foot experience from the ground up for platforms such as Samsung Tizen, LG, Roku 
• Be the leading voice for proper architecture practices 
• Maintain and improve existing in market apps 
• Write reliable, well structured and testable code 
• Participate in regular code reviews 
• Communicate with the product team to design new features and provide updates on development progress 
• Mentor junior developers 
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (Daily scrums, backlog grooming, sprint planning, etc) 

What you will bring: 

• A wealth of experience as a connected device developer 
• Have shipped and supported multiple 10 foot experience apps 
• Ability to quickly pickup a new platform and language 
• Experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, Brightscript, HTML5, Javascript 
• Source Code Management, preferably Github 
• Experience consuming web services 
• Experience with Unit Testing and UI Testing 
• Experience with CICD, Jenkins 
• Solid communication skills 
• Ability to mentor other developers
