This is an opportunity to play a critical role in the Rogers Technology Project Management Office with visibility to programs throughout the Rogers Enterprise. The  Technology PMO focuses on working collaboratively across the business to deliver all corporate projects on time, on scope and on budget, keeping customer experience at the core of the what we do. The Senior Manager, Technology PMO COE will be responsible for supporting the PMO to drive performance, financial reporting, intake of new programs and capacity planning for 100+ project managers.

 

What you will be doing…

  • Manage the performance, intake, capacity, recruitment and financial reporting across all Technology PMO projects
  • Manage all project set up activities
  • Accountable for the administration of Jira, the PPM tool utilized by the PMO
  • Responsible for the implementation of SOX controls according to requirements agreed with the internal controls team
  • Represent the PMO in any initiative to improve processes that impact the day to day operations (e.g. Capital management, Software Delivery Lifecycle, Reporting, etc.)
  • Development and delivery of the project Performance Scorecard and associated reporting.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics and drive action plans where required
  • Accountable for the capacity plan for the Technology PMO, covering the intake of programs across all business areas, current demand and managing the overall capacity to allow the PMO to meet the demands of the business.
  • Manage the contractor process from onboarding to departure
  • Manage the process of correcting allocation of charges between projects
  • Provide data and analytic support as required
  • Seek opportunities to perfect skills and share knowledge/experience with others
  • Manage and develop a team of managers, continuing a culture of delivery and excellence

 

What you have…

  • 7+ years’ experience, ideally in Telco, Digital or related technology industry managing and leading a team of project managers or analysts.
  • Demonstrated success in managing people, projects and deadlines.
  • Strong analytic and reporting skills.  Ability to draw and present conclusions from data analysis.
  • Expert in MS Office with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
  • Expereince with project financials including capital management process and operational budgeting process
  • Previous experience implementing governance controls for software delivery is considered an asset
  • Superior interpersonal and communication (oral, written) skills with a proven business acumen
  • Proven communication, presentation and leadership skill set from working-level, executives, and external audiences (influencing, negotiation, facilitation, decision-making, problem-solving, translating business jargon) ideally within a project management environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to handle a high volume of work.
  • Highly motivated and proactive individual capable of owning and driving assignments with ability to influence (add value) and interpret requests which may not be clearly defined.
  • Understanding of every phase of a large project or group of smaller projects, including initiating, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling and closing all technical, non-technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the project
  • Ability to work effectively with little or no supervision, minimal direction and frequent interruptions.
  • Fast learner, who can quickly apply Rogers’ knowledge, new technologies and new approaches.
  • Results driven, thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Adjust quickly to shifting priorities and rapid changes
  • Jira experience an asset
  • PMP certification is an asset
