POSITION SUMMARY
NMG is looking for a Manager, Indigenous Relations to support the development of engagement strategies and partnerships with Indigenous communities.
Your mandate will be to:
1) Develop relationships and facilitate the participation of the Indigenous workforce, businesses and communities in NMG's activities;
2) Identify and coordinate flagship partnerships and sponsorships with organizations and other stakeholders that support Indigenous community priorities;
3) Support diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts and initiatives within the Company and its communities.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that the interests of Indigenous communities are understood and incorporated into all NMG activities.
- Build strong relationships with various Indigenous community development organizations.
- Review internal processes related to the awarding of business contracts so that Indigenous businesses are better informed of new business opportunities and tenders.
- Update and maintain a list of Indigenous businesses in our communities and help pair Indigenous businesses with our project managers and contractors.
- Maintain relationships with municipalities and regional governments to develop housing, daycares and other services for Indigenous workers.
- Systematically communicate all job postings to Indigenous employment networks.
- Propose and implement engagement activities with Indigenous organizations and communities to identify new opportunities for collaboration and development.
- Establish and coordinate a bursary program for Indigenous students.
- Support the creation of internships for all job profiles.
- Support equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) efforts and initiatives within the Company and its communities.

Essential Skills- Ability to create networks and maintain fulfilling relationships with different stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
- Planning, collaboration and coordination skills.
Experience- Excellent knowledge of Indigenous community issues and interests.
- Experience with community and economic development.
LanguagesFluency in spoken and written French; English is an asset.
Work SettingsWorkplace: Montreal, Saint-Michel-des-Saints, Quebec and/or remote work. Occasional travel to operational sites as well as to Indigenous communities.
