Ministry of Forests Merritt (Hybrid) Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. Resource Manager $88,700.23 - $125,700.07 annually As a Resource Manager, you will lead a team of technical, administrative and professional staff, ensuring district-wide operations align with ministry priorities, objectives and legislative requirements. This role is crucial in managing natural resource or infrastructure projects including tenures, stewardship, engineering, lands, corporate services, First Nations relations, range management, water allocation, land information and natural hazard preparation. | |
Salary | $88,700.23 - $125,700.07 Annually |
Experience | Qualifications for this role include: - University degree or diploma in a field related to natural resource management, business/public administration or acceptable equivalent and five (5) years of directly related experience; OR, - An equivalent combination of related education and a minimum seven (7) years of directly related experience. - Experience in operational management of natural resources. - Experience leading and coaching diverse teams and in financial and human resource management. - Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving problems with stakeholders in natural resource management or infrastructure development. Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following: - Registered Professional Forester, Registered Forest Technologist or other related professional designation. - Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving issues with First Nations, partners, clients and other interested parties in natural resource management or infrastructure development. - Experience in operational forestry in BC. - Recent experience (in the last 5 years) in human resource management, including direct supervision, and in leading and coaching diverse teams. - Experience managing a program for a minimum of two (2) years. - Program administration experience including allocating resources, budget management and business planning. - Financial management experience including expense authority, budgets, forecasts, etc. |
