This position is also posted as a Biologist 27 via Requisition 81014. We are also actively recruiting for a Licensed Aquatic Plant Officer (Licensed Science Officer (Other) 2) via Requisition 81013.

As the Senior Licensed Aquatic Plant Officer, you will be supporting the delivery of the provincially delivered Aquaculture Program. This will include evaluating resource applications, conducting applied research, and leading or participating in complex projects. The successful candidate will require knowledge of the BC Fish and Seafood Act, the Land Act, related regulation and policy, as well as related pertinent provincial and federal legislation, associated public involvement and First Nations consultation obligations.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Degree in a natural resource field, or equivalent, as recognized by the relevant association, with two years of recent and related experience in a natural resource field.
• Registered (or immediately eligible for registration) with the British Columbia professional association as required by the specialty area (e.g.: Association of Forest Professionals, Institute of Agrologists, Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of the Province of BC). Note: immediately eligible is defined as being able to transfer a current membership to one of the above BC associations within six months of employment.
• Experience interpreting and applying environmental/natural resource management legislation, regulations and/or policies.
Salary$68,008.54 - $85,592.73 annually
