HEABC is responsible for negotiating provincial agreements for 138,000 unionized health care employees including nurses, physician residents, ambulance paramedics, health science professionals, and more. For more information, visit www.heabc.bc.ca OPPORTUNITY: HEABC has an opening for a Labour Economics and Costing Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Labour Relations Data and Analytics, the Analyst provides support and conducts labour relations collective agreement costing, negotiations, policy and data analyses support, prepares regular and ad hoc reports on HHR related topics, and provides information and advice on challenges and opportunities pertaining to HEABC's labour relations and HHR interests and activities. Responsibilities Include: Costing bargaining proposals/provisions/concepts to support the development and execution of successful, evidence-based bargaining strategies. Supporting the development and communication of complex health sector and subsector costing Providing additional qualitative and quantitative research support, including preparing briefing and research notes, analysis and other required intelligence/information concerning data and analytics related research in support of HEABC bargaining preparations and live negotiations. Developing, analyzing, and interpreting various statistical and economic data, research studies, wage and salary surveys, and policy options to support decision-makers with evidence-based and statistically supported advice. Required Education, Experience and Skills Undergraduate degree in a related discipline, such as mathematics, economics, statistics, epidemiology and computer science and three (3) to (5) years of related work experience, or equivalent education and experience. Working proficiency in data research - ability to access, review and analyze data via spreadsheets, databases, etc. Proficiency in Excel is essential and knowledge of Business Intelligence and statistical programs such as R, and Tableau are an asset. Knowledge and experience with labour relations is strongly desired; health human resources and workforce planning would be an asset. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and solve problems and ability to conduct research, handle multiple simultaneous projects. Excellent oral and writing communication skills. Salary Range: $67,861 to $97,550 Typical Hiring Range: $67,861 to $84,826 In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate's skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package. | |
