| Are you a passionate Laboratory Professional looking for a rewarding career? We are looking for a casual Laboratory Technologist to join the Pathology team at the Royal Inland Hospital! The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is one of Interior Health Authorities tertiary referral hospitals and the Lab at RIH is one of our largest and most interesting. This is a full-service Laboratory offering Chemistry, Haematology, Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology and Point of Care testing. The Lab employs a very large team of generalist and specialist Technologists who deliver both inpatient and outpatient Lab services utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our professional Lab team, work collaboratively with other departments throughout the hospital and other Interior Health sites. As a Laboratory Technologist, you will work in a team based environment and perform a variety of duties within the Laboratory such as routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents. Shifts are 07:00-15:00 and 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday on an as needed basis. | |
| Credentials | Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS |
| Education Requirements | Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program |
| Experience | One (1) year recent related experience. |
