Full-Time, Term Position Available

Duties: Reporting to the Manager of the Technology Access Centre for Aerospace and Manufacturing (TACAM) of Red River College (RRC), the Research Technologist will support applied research activities in robotics, automation and integration of electromechanical systems. Specific duties will include developing software for interfacing a variety of sensors, actuators, robots, and / or machine vision systems to a lab-scale or production environment and designing of printed circuit board (PCB) and electronic assemblies. The candidate will be required to work as part of project teams to develop solutions for industrial clients, and also develop technical reports for both college-based and industrial client projects, and support technology workshops and knowledge dissemination, and industry outreach activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Instrumentation Engineering / Technology. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience in robotics, PCB design and app development.
- Experience in interfacing or integrating electrical, automation, communication and mechanical systems
- Experience in C++ or Python computing languages
- Ability to undertake multiple tasks with limited supervision
- Strong written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience in project management

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience programming collaborative robots
- Experience working in College applied research such as a Technology Access Centre
- Experience in ROS-industrial

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
