The Partnerships and Workforce Planning Branch has a twelve (12) month term opportunity for a Senior Policy Analyst. We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to provide research, analysis, and recommendations on key policy issues related to First Nations and Metis health.

Reporting to the Director, Intergovernmental and Indigenous Relations, you will have responsibility to:

Prepare clear, concise and timely written materials (briefing notes, speaking notes, reports and issues papers) related to First Nations and Metis health;
Work with First Nations and Metis organizations, the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the federal government on health issues that related to First Nations and Metis citizens;
Collect and analyze relevant data, trends and issues to make accurate and timely decisions and recommendations on a variety of policies and programs;
Clearly and accurately explain complex legislation, policies, programs and processes to others, both verbally and in writing; and
Collaborate with co-workers, agencies, and others to consistently meet program and client needs in a manner appropriate for the audience.

The successful candidate will have:
Knowledge of, and respect for, First Nations and Metis cultures, traditions, and values;
Knowledge of First Nations and Metis health issues and challenges;
Knowledge of and experience with legislation and regulations, programs, policies, and guidelines as they relate to the health system;
Demonstrated experience developing and building collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders; and
Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through:
A Bachelor's degree in a social science, health administration, or a related discipline along with experience in public policy development.
