We are hiring a permanent part time (0.8 FTE) Residential Care Coordinator to join our team at Dr. Helmcken Memoriay Hospital in Clearwater, B.C. We’re seeking nurses with residential experience and strong leadership skills to join our team.

The Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area. Located in Clearwater, North of Kamloops, the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient and 24 hour emergency.

The Residential Care Coordinator (RCC) is responsible for the coordination of day to day operations and quality resident care within a designated clinical area(s). This position supports the seamless movement of residents through the healthcare system and in accessing appropriate resources.

The RCC also:
•Supervises as well as serves as a role model and a resource to staff for clinical decision-making, clinical assessments of residents and in the counseling and education of families.
• Reviews, analyzes and makes recommendations on the development of administrative systems such as policies, procedures and standards of resident care, adequate staffing levels, and a continuous quality improvement environment.
• Liaises with the interdisciplinary team for identification, coordination and efficient utilization of resources as well as plans for staff educational needs.

Shifts of work will be four 8 hour work days per week 08:00 to 16:00 with expected days of work Monday to Thursday.

CredentialsCurrent practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses’ of BC (CRNBC) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of BC (CRPNBC).
Education RequirementsBaccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
ExperienceThree years of recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment.

Two years recent supervisory and teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
