Authorizations Specialist

The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development has a mandate to manage specified Crown land and resources in a manner that embraces the economic, environmental and social goals of government. These results are all essential to improving the global competitiveness of BC industry and our ability to attract private investment and to stimulate economic growth and job creation across the province.

As an Authorizations Specialist, you will work closely with clients on Land Act applications, provide technical advice, and may make decisions regarding the allocation of resources for the Natural Resource Sector. You will also develop and maintain partnerships with officials from all levels of government, First Nations, stakeholders, clients, and resource users. These partnerships will be a key factor in obtaining input that will assist with resolving land and resource issues. You will also be involved with designing, leading, and coordinating multiple resource projects involving natural resource authorizations.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Degree or diploma in natural resource management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated increasing experience working in natural resource management.
• Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management.
• Experience in consulting, negotiating and resolving conflicts with stakeholders in natural resource management.
Salary$66,557.72 - $75,884.38 annually
