Reporting to the Chair of Indigenous Education and ACCESS programs, the Instructor is required to deliver theory and practical training to students in the Indigenous Language Program. Duties related to instructing include instructional methodology and curriculum development and content courses in the Indigenous Language Program. The successful candidate for this position must be willing to participate in external professional organizations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor of Education degree - Related teaching experience - Experience with curriculum development, including implementation and assessment - Ability to fluently speak, read and write the Ojibway language - Sound knowledge of the Ojibwe Roman Orthography Double Vowel Writing System - Ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment - Ability to successfully work independently - Excellent conflict management skills - Effective verbal communication skills - Excellent written communication skills - Effective presentation skills to diverse audiences - Excellent interpersonal skills - Experience using computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) - Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Commitment to lifelong learning CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada - This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends - This position may be required to work overtime - This position may be required to travel | |
