Description
Responsibilities:
-Participate actively and positively in the development of the team and the achievement of the team’s goals.
-Assist tradesmen and technicians in the performance of their duties.
-Assist with rough carpentry and concrete work, grouting and cement finishing, bricklaying, fence erection and building erection.
-Assist in facilities cleanliness, painting, grass cutting, landscaping and grounds, and snow removal.
-Ensure that duties performed comply with Corporate and regulatory environmental requirements. Report any incidents or situations that may be harmful to the environment or in violation of corporate or regulatory requirements.
-Operate simple electrical and pneumatic tools.
-Perform rigging work which will require climbing ability.
-Operate the following mobile equipment as required: forklift, self-propelled snow blower, trucks, Genie and other light equipment.
-Perform mould remediation under the guidance of the Carpenter Tradesmen.
-Install and remove household appliances.(ex. fridges, stoves, washers, dryers and dishwashers.
-May be required to direct and train junior personnel.

Qualifications:
-Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
-Minimum of one year related experience.
-Semi-skilled in the work of the building trades.
-Physically capable of performing all of the duties of the position including lifting heavy loads, working at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
-Familiar with and adhere to Manitoba Hydro Safety manual and other approved practices and procedures including Safe Work Procedures.
-Familiar with and adhere to all Federal and Provincial regulations.
-Familiar and basic skills with the operation of a Personal Computer and willing to learn programs which may be required.
-Capable of understanding and following written and oral instructions, plans, sketches of small projects.
-Able to work harmoniously with fellow employees.
-Possess a valid Manitoba Driver's Licence Class 5.
