 PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

This specialist role will primary responsible for managing the company’s fatigue risk management process (FRMS). Reporting to the Manager, Safety Programs, this specialist role will be responsible for providing guidance on fatigue related matters and maintaining the company’s scheduling procedure.  This role will work with subject matter experts in the field of fatigue management to continually improve the company’s process. Background expertise in the fields of kinesiology and industrial hygiene would also be considered an asset.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Monitoring and continuous improvement of Canadian Pacific’s FRMS
  • Responsible for providing recommendations to senior management and implementing updates to the FMRS/scheduling process.
  • Evaluate and respond to escalated fatigue concerns brought forward by employees.
  • Review incident and hazard reports related to fatigue concerns
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies as required on fatigue related matters
  • Prepare and communicate educational resources and technical aids for the FRMS.
  • Assist with the training of accountable managers/leaders

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 3 years experience in Fatigue Risk Management
  • Bachelor's Degree (Technical/Scientific)
  • Undergraduate degree/diploma relating to human factors/fatigue science
  • Safety Management System (SMS) experience
  • Experience implementing fatigue management principles
  • Knowledgeable in the use of bio-mathematical fatigue models such as FAID
  • Experience working in the transportation industry
  • Detailed knowledge of statistical software packages
  • Excellent MS Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and database
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Management Conductor Program:
